After nearly 5 years of not visiting Argentina I had the opportunity to fly back. Today I'll review my flight from Toronto Pearson International Airport to Comodoro Arturo Merino Benitez International Airport. Following my small supper at the Plaza Premium Lounge at Pearson, I was informed that my flight was 15 minutes behind schedule. 102 minutes later we departing towards Chile. On take off, the triple seven vibrated a lot compared to the take off on the way back from Chile. The GE90 engines are loud enough to be heard while using headphone at a reasonable volume. Following departure, the Air Canada's personal set the LED light to a soft purple red colour theme which was really nice. Around 30minutes after take off, I receive my special meal as I am lactose intolerant. My warm meal came before those served in Business or Premium Economy.

The sauce over the potatoes and the chicken was delicious, honestly I was astonished how good it was , the condiments felt like one you'll find in a none fast-food restaurant. The meal was really hot at the point I had to wait 15minutes before I could open it. Overall my food was really good better than what I expected but it was way too small for a teenager or for an adult. The dish next to my main meal was way too cold to eat so I returned it to the flight attendant and to be honest I had no clue what it was. We hit some rough turbulence over Durham but nothing the pilots could not overcome. Around 3:05am EDT ,an hour later after my meal, my row was serve its meal, I kindly asked the flight attendant if I could have a regular meal as I was really hungry.I had the choice between Chicken and Beef. Choosing the chicken option , I had to wait around 10 minutes before I could open it.

The fregula (fregola) were really and well done and was delicious for an economy meal. The chicken was as properly cook nothing special. Following eating I tried the in flight entertainment system. It was not as laggy and it worked smoothly unlike the one on the YUL-YYZ flight.

As you can see above, the screen is rather small and the edges are way to big and occupy space which could be used to enlarge the screen and provide a nicer screen. It would of been also nice if the screen was movable like those on the smaller aircraft.I decided to watch The Mick to see how the image look overall. The quality was decent nothing out of the astronaidary. What I notice was depending on the lighting and how reclined the seat in front of you was , it sometimes made it harder to see properly the image being displayed and you could not do much about it. There were around 7-9 options per category for the Tv and Movie section. I did fine that the selection was limited compared to other airlines and I only found 2-3 movies which I liked - Comedy movies - . The one issue I often came across while watching a Tv episode was that Air Canada lacked other episodes. It only had 3 episodes per season and the max number of season were two. Also I found it quite annoying you couldn't see all movies or Tv show in one section, instead you had to browse by category.
Following watching some Tv, I tried to sleep and I reclined my seat. My seat and the seat right to me had the same issue, that when you recline the seat, it'll slowly come back to its initial vertical position. It seemed to be a issue commonly complained on the aircraft. The problem with the seat not reclining was it made it harder to fall asleep. Nevertheless, the legroom was better than expecting especially as I was able to extend my feet under the front seat. It's also worth noted that the air conditioning did not work for my seat.

After waking up from a short nap, I had to go to the bathroom and it was a big deception . The sink was way too small to be able to fit your hands properly which made washing your hands hard. Another contributor was the fact you couldn't have the water running handsfree. To wash your hands you had to do some weird hand coordination.

2 hour prior to landing we were serve our breakfast, I was served an omelette with sweat potatoes and mushroom. After removing the mushrooms, I enjoyed my cold omelette. They also served me a frozen muffin which did not have much taste . After eating breakfast, we landed and it was one heck of a smooth landing, so smooth that a lot of the passengers did not notice we landed.
Something which I noticed a lot throughout the flight which was a big disappointment was the time the steward took to respond to a call. In the two occasions which I had to call for staff due to a nose bleed or for a water to take a medication at a specific time, the flight attendants of Air Canada were really slow at responding with an average time of 25 minutes and I usually ended up catching the attention of a flight attendant walking.
The seat and the the IFE could be improved especially the software of the IFE and add more movie option and more episodes and season. They could also speed it and make the screen a bit bigger. For the seat, the head rest should be made flexible so you can move it vertically to accommodate to your preference. Overall , the flight exceeded my expectations. The legroom and the food was really good for a economy class and the stewards and the crew were really nice and were really flexible if needed.
